150 acre former waste management facility on the mainland shore of
Galveston Bay. The entire facility is surrounded by a flood protection-levee
and is bordered on the northeast and east by swamp and marsh lands,
which extend to the shore of Swan Lake and Galveston Bay. The two
sources of contamination on the site are the settling basin surface
impoundment/earthen impoundment and oil pit.
