PNL
worked with ExxonMobil and Unocal to close this 80 acre site. We used
vivid displays of data in 3D to convince Louisiana Department of Natural
Resources that a protective remedy simply needed to include the management
and treatment of the uppermost parts of the impacted zones. We assisted
in all bidding, remedy design and construction oversight. In short
we assisted ExxonMobil in turning a seemingly complex project into
a simple one, which was executed on schedule and budget, after being
“stuck” for over 10 years. The work involved extensive
regrading and cap construction. PNL also gave many project update
presentations to the local community over a 5 year time frame. These
talks used our vivid 3D graphics capabilities.
Project Metrics: 250,000 cys managed, more than $10MM saved from initial
projections, complex risk based negotiations, 60 acre capped and regraded
zone, 6 months of construction. RBCA approach to groundwater management
with continued monitoring. |
